What are the options for hinge drilling?
You’ll want to make sure that you choose the right drilling options for your
cabinets and hinge selections. Once you’ve decided what type of hinges
will go on the door, you can choose whether the drilling for the hinges
should be standard, frameless, or lazy susan, and whether they’ll be
screw on or press in holes.
How do I correctly measure my cabinet openings and calculate the size of doors I need to order?
If you’re just replacing your current doors and faces, you can usually just measure the doors and faces you’re replacing and be good to go assuming you’re using the same hardware, or hardware with the same
sizing and specs. If you’re adding new doors or faces, or if you are changing up some aspects of the door (such as overlay), then you may need to do more calculations. This can all get a bit complicated, so be sure to check and re-check our calculations so that you order the right size of doors and faces! Here is some guidance:
- Openings with a single door: Measure the opening and add two times the desired overlay. For example, a 16-inch-wide-by-28-inchhigh opening with a 1/2-inch overlay would need a 17-inch-by-29-
inch door. - Openings with two doors: The width of each will be calculated by taking the total opening width and adding twice the amount of desired overlay, and then subtracting 1/8 of an inch, and then
dividing by two. For example, a 24-inch opening with a 1/2-inch overlay would need two doors at 12 7/16 inches. The height formula, thankfully, is the same as for an opening with a single door.
Are there standard sized cabinet doors or can I order custom sized doors?
There are some industry standards out there with door sizes that are common to many projects. However, our shop and manufacturing process can handle whatever size of door your select. As long as you stay within our size limitations, you can order to within 1/16 of an inch for your custom
project.
How do you price my cabinet door order?
Each door style has a base $ amount for each square foot. Additions to that amount are made based on selections of wood species, finishings, boring, etc. You can watch the changes in pricing as you make your selections, so nothing should be a surprise at checkout.

What are the drilling options for drawer faces?
We do not drill any drawer faces. There are simply too many options for handles and other hardware that can make putting a hole in our beautiful drawer faces risky without being on site and seeing the hardware in
person. You’ll be in the best position to drill for the final decision on hardware made by the customer.

For drawer faces where you are adding drawers or changing the amount of overlay, simply measure the opening and add two
times the overlay amount you want. Do this for both the width and the
height and you should be good to go.
